A Jolly Good Stuffing!
10 GoodGymers made their way on a training session in Portsmouth.
- Sunday, 24th of November 2019
- Led by Rachel Cutler
Sunday Funday/ Runday? With the festive season and the festive half marathon around the corner, a few of us needed some training motivation - or just motivation to leave the house on a Sunday morning. What better motivation could be for a 10 mile run (yikes) than the company your Goodgym buddies and the reward of a pub roast at the end!
As planned we set off from the Coffee Cup for some laps of the seafront, headed east to the Eastney ferry, returning across the full length of the prom down to The Point in Old Portsmouth, and back again to Coffee Cup - plus a few mini laps until everyone was happy with their strava count! Excellent steady running by all; Maxine and Louisa broke their own records for furthest runs yet, and Tim did his furthest run since 1986! A lifetime for some people.. We even had a bit of November sunshine (captured on camera in Dr Jo's action shots :-).
After all those kms, we were very ready for lunch at the Jolly Sailor. Angela, Mel, Lynn, Judy and Tess the dog met us there, helping to make our group more fragrant smelling overall!
Having agreed that this ticks the main Portsmouth Goodgym boxes of running and lots of food... watch this space for another Sunday run (with shorter distance options!).
