Ten Goodyymers met at our usual haunt, (but in bright morning sunshine) Leisure World, for a Sunday morning half marathon training session.

Tav warmed us up in the lovely morning rays with some drills including some football inspired opening of the groin gates, squats and lunges across the bridge.

We made our way through castle park, along the river and too Balkerne Hill where Tav described the relevance of this hill to the Colchester Half Marathon route. Balkerne Hill is pedestrianized and parallel to North Hill which is a key first section in the actual race.

We set off at our individual paces for 15 minutes of hills, working at a steady pace up hill and recovering our breath down.

Everyone put in their best effort and completed at least five hills. Tav did a great job of encouraging whilst also taking part himself.

We finished by jogging through the High Street where we imagined the cheering crowds in a month.

Fingers crossed for a day like today (weather wise) on the 24th of March.
