Last Night

It was great to see some many members join us last night on the group run to Brockhill. With a lovely 3km(ish) run down the canal. It was clear the lovely weather had tempted many of the public out too, with the pathway busy with bikes and runners. We cleared the way with our group of 16 runners!

We arrived at Brockhill, welcomed by our regular ladies! Water ready to hydrate us. Our task for the evening was to sand down three garden benches and then to paint them to give them a new life! It was definitely all hands on deck with everyone getting stuck into the sanding and painting. Turned into a little judging competition of the best bench. It's great coming back to Brockhill Care home, we have been welcomed here since the beginning and we seen the home change and become such a well decorated place! We have painted hallways, window frames, dining rooms, we have also gardened residents gardens and communal seating areas.

This week as the weather has been so nice, we had a little change on the way back. Split into two groups - Pub group and home group. Nick ran the group back to the starting point for those who needed to get back home while myself took the larger of the two groups to the pub. We headed to the Cricketers in Horsell for an evening of drinks and chat. With Ruth and myself counting the days down until the end of term and having the best bit to enjoy of being a teacher. Abi almost coming to the end of year 10 , she sounds like she has a fun few days a head of Science and dead bodies!! Anne is heading back to France for the Summer so she will be missed during the August month but will be back in September. With so much going on and people going away on their holidays, obviously GoodGym will keep on going throughout the summer.

Next week

Looks like a hot one next week with the temperatures reaching 30! We are heading to the allotment to harvest even more potatoes! Please remember if you fancy taking any potatoes or rhubarb home with you, bring a bag to carry some! We have a lot of work to do on the allotment - remember to bring a drink too! SIgn up on the website!
