I had a nice chat with Mr D about his life, being in the army and coming to the UK. He's disabled and has had a tough time. Though his spoken English is good, I helped him to understand some letters about pensions and benefits. He would appreciate further help with telephone calls to the local authority housing department to help them better understand his situation with repairs needed for his home. He keeps small birds and obviously gets a huge pleasure from having them around.
