Report written by Katie Carew-Robinson (she/her)
Tonight we ran from a brightly lit room decorated for Remembrance Sunday all the way up to Hilsea Lido where our path was lit by torches in the style of a runway.
Good to see Dr Jo and Tim back again tonight. And we missed Angela and Mel who both had to stay home to nurse their colds - get better soon.
This evening's task was to pot a whole load of plants that had been donated to the Lido by Mount Folly Nurseries. We were pleased to see that some of the pots we were rehoming the plants in were the ones that we had painted in a previous visit.
Tony's quote of the evening was
I've soiled myself
(I did consider it as the title of the run report but thought better of it!)
After 30 minutes of lifting, shifting and potting, all the plants had new homes and were looking much better. They will be homed on the patio at the Blue Lagoon for the winter and moved into the Lido ready for the Spring. We will be back before the Lido opens to the public to help spruce it up for the new season.
We managed to co-incide our task ending with the beginning of the City Council firework display. We had an excellent view from the Lido so stopped for a while to watch the rockets and squealers before heading back south under the crowds who'd gathered on the bridges.
Another lovely task for our friends at the Lido who are always so welcoming and pleased to see us. Watch out for more visits there next year.
