Having ran to Mousehold, for the evenings task, I was surprised to arrive 10 minutes early. I spotted Will, the heath warden, unloading the tools ready for Goodgym's arrival, so I knew I was in the correct place. As the time got closer to 6pm and with no other Goodgymers in sight, I started to wonder if I was indeed in the correct place, however, just in time Rachel arrived, followed by Cheska and then Sophie. There was some guessing as to who the 5th Goodgymer would be, so whilst we waited, Will went for a wander to a nearby carpark incase the person had met there instead.

With no sign of the mystery Goodgymer, Will gathered us round to give us a debrief, explaining the task at hand was to remove outgrown bracken from specific areas and relocate it further up from the road, taking note not to disturb any Heather. We split into two groups with Cheska and Rachel pulling bracken up by hand, whilst me and Sophie raked already cut bracken in piles ready to carry. We were then joined by Melanie, who had taken a detour and got temporarily lost through the heath on route to the task, however swiftly joining us with the raking and carrying of bracken.

The task was definitely a workout, putting the gym in Goodgym, whether that was pulling up bracken (those squat exercises coming in handy) or carrying HUGE bundles of bracken up hill for a cardio workout.

Having noticed Bill and Kate in the bright red Goodgym tops across the road waiting to start the second task, I glanced at my watch and it was suddenly approaching the end of the task. Will thanked us for our hard work and off we went after another successful and rewarding task.

Congratulations to Cheska who celebrated her 50th Goodgym task!
