The weather was certainly a dramatic change from the weekend but that didn`t put off our MADE OF TOUGH STUFF eight from coming along tonight for a 4k run to help deliver flying invitations for Foodcycle Bath, delivering to local residents inviting them to come along to a cooked meal made from surplus food on Wednesday evening. The skies were very dark tonight with the threat of a storm looming overhead.

The run was mostly UP and DOWN this evening with a run up to our host Fiona at st Marys church we even had chance for some squats and step ups on the way and the runners at the front were sent to the back for some speed work and a re group. Emily even had chance to show the group the waffle fence she made for Transition Bath on Gravel walk.

Fiona was there to greet us and talk to the group about Foodcycle and the good they do using surplus food and volunteers to create wonderful meals for people at risk of social poverty and isolation every Wednesday evening in Bath.

The group split into two teams of four with Joseph Rob Mim and Anna heading out to the east side and Steph Emily Helen and Sam moving across the western streets, this involved weaving our way up and down the hilly streets with our invitations to tomorrows dinner at st Marys church.

Helen bid us farewell as she was off to play board games and boy doesn't that girl like to keep busy. The runners made light work of delivering 400 flyers before re grouping back at the church for some light refreshments kindly supplied by Fiona... Lovely cakes of various shapes sizes and a variety of flavours, well you have to re fuel don`t you.

Time to grab a group photo before heading back to the leisure centre and take a quick look at the swan nesting on the way. A well earned stretch out and it was noted that a couple of the runners came away with a CAKE IN A BAG, not mentioning any names.

Thanks Sam for the pun and Emily for back marking and everyone who came along tonight to help. Thank you to Fiona for the lovely cakes
