Report written by Melanie (She)
After a busy month of the Goodgym January Challenge and Mind Charity’s Red January, with only a day’s rest, there was still a great turnout at Catton Parkrun this morning, both volunteering and running. It was lovely to see Dan too - a familiar face from earlier Norwich Goodgym days.
The Volunteers, for this Goodgym community mission, were Catherine; who was on barcode scanning, with Steven, Darren and Mel on marshalling at the 5km timed event. They all wrapped up warm, donned a Hi-Viz jacket, got their safety briefing and it was off to supervise, direct and motivate some runners and get their run times scanned in at the finish line.
It was a very icy, then muddy start to this Saturday morning, so lots of motivational cheering; clapping and shouting “mind the ice/ mud” was heard across the park!
Running their 50th Parkrun today was Sam (+ Baby Jim) and Richard.
Really well done guys, what an achievement!!
With Elizabeth feeling a little worse for wear from the night before, I think the pastries that Sam brought along were very well received ;)
The added bonus to the morning was that everyone managed to finish and get back from volunteering and running just in time before it started to rain!
Well done everyone!
(Hayley and Beks were also volunteering over at Norwich Parkrun)
