GG NEWS

  • A big well done to Adam who went off to Istanbul to race in the 15km. Sounded like things really were heating up.
  • If anyone is interested in racing the Brutal 10km next weekend - 16th November then let me know. I will be likely entering and would be happy to share lifts.
  • Thank you to everyone who has paid for their Xmas Do deposit. There is still time if anyone else is interested in coming along.

Last Night at GG Woking

A big welcome to Tom who joined us on his first Group Run experience. I hope the hill running didn't put you off and we see you again soon. Last night we met at Woking leisure Center and headed off for a gentle run to the Food bank. We arrived and all was dark. There was no one in!! After a quick check to see what was happening, we soon found out that the lady who runs the food bank had to look after her poorly mum so couldn't meet us. So we headed into town to show off our squat skills and to spread the word and curiosity of GoodGym. 197109

We then headed for the dreaded hill. With a warm to the top and back and then some fartlek training. Fartlek, which means "speed play" in Swedish, is continuous training with interval training. Fartlek runs are a very simple form of a long distance run. Fartlek training “is simply defined as periods of fast running intermixed with periods of slower running." Then the next round of adding a pressup at each lamp post of the way up.

Off to the park for some squat jumps and speed work. With a total of 6km covered and many body weight exercises completed. Everyone did such a good job! A big well done!

Next week

We are meet at WWF carpark - at the bottom of the steps! We will then be running to Woodham parish church - please remember head lights or some sort of light stick (James!)
