Report written by StephDucat
Friday Ealing Soup Kitchen and 4 goodgymers made their way to the Crypt to volunteer and prep for some hungry people especially that is was a bit cold this morning. Alot of volunteers today which made is easier for all. Jp went from grocery bags, to clothing and loaffed around the dining area. Elizabeth was new but not new to Goodgym as did in previous years attend community missions in Ealing - welcome back!!Elizabeth was on shower duties and handing out tickets then towels, socks etc for the customers to feel nice and fresh. Steph was joined by Jacquie in the dining area and kitchen to prepare food that would be served from 1 pm. Mary or at least one of the Mary's said Steph Ducat you will have a nice task today in the kitchen : was that a trap?!The challenge was the dessert and one that Angela would look closely as one of her favorites : yes in charge of doing Bread and Butter pudding with custard. With help of Mary, Jacquie and Arul we took the challenge : we had a loaf-changing experience. You will know the outcome of the dessert on the Lunch report : were we on a roll or would Angela and the customers not want nan of it?
Ealing Soup Kitchen is a registered charity set up to help the vulnerable and homeless in the area. Nine local churches support our faith-based Soup Kitchen, which has been running since 1973.
