Bexley News...
Tonight 9 runners ran and walked 3.5km to help out at Greenwich and Bexley Hospice shop in Welling.
Our warm-up this week was something a little bit different...After a few quick dynamic stretches we all lined up and took part in a beep test, sprinting in time to the beeps as the gaps between them became quicker. Everyone smashed it and got to level 3.
It was then time to make our way along Welling High Street towards the shop. We had a team of runners and a team of walkers. Thanks to Jess and Luke for looking after the walking group. Upon arrival we were met by Lorraine who also has some fresh glasses of water waiting for us. Not long after the runners had arrived did the walkers follow. Jess had everyone speed walking along the high street!
We had 2 tasks tonight. * Cleaning and tidying the kitchen * Cleaning and tidying the childrens area.
We split into 2 teams, each tackling the 2 different areas.
After scrubbing, cleaning and polishing we all had a nose around the shop and tried on all the different hats that were on display.
After a quick photo session, we said our goodbyes and made our way back to base camp. The runners arrived back first while the walkers walked, danced and side stepped their way back to base.
Guys, Susan and myself are away next week. I will put out an update in the week about next weeks group run.
Until next time...
Happy Running!
