Wow that was a busy shift! Kudos (or queue-dos 😉) to everyone for making it go (mostly) smoothly.

Southsea medical centre were aiming for some kind of PB today with both vaccinations available, education staff being invited as well as second doses and firsts aplenty. Somewhere in the region of 90-100 patients were going through each hour. With the sunshine on our side, the queue grew round the corner and the post vaccine tent got very busy but most people were happy to be there and the outdoor mood was jovial.

Laura joined us for her first clinic experience, ably handing out sanitiser to everyone waiting, then they had their temperature taken by Andrew (a new GG recruit, formally with the HIVE).

Sinéad was on the AZ exit gate, checking driving status and therefore letting people go free or directing them to have a seat in the party tent, where I was stationed. Sam (an RVS volunteer) and I came up with a handy sign language depending on whether people were staying or going. YMCA has nothing on us. Sinead also did an impromptu litter pick after discovering some rusty nails on the path.

After 930, the sun was round enough that we caught some rays in the car park and held off the chill.

The relief effort came in the shape of Eli, Rachel, Judy and Paul. Then it was time for lunch...
