What a beautiful evening for a litter pick at Eastney. The wind was chilly, but the sun was warm - a great combination. Armed with our rubbish, re-cycling bags and litter pickers, we all went off in different directions. Lucy and Laura started at the seashore and then moved along the road back towards the marina. Lynne and Judy covered the beach up towards the ferry following Mel and Maura who continued round the point and back past the lived in boats. There were lots of people in cars enjoying the view, a young family sitting in a row eating their tea and a few fishermen. We found some bottles, unfortunately a lot of broken glass spread all over, lots of metal and fishing wires, cans and takeaway boxes, and the ubiquitous item of clothing, a solo sock! What was lovely is that all of us had at least 2 people say thank you, including a cute little tot who thanked Judy for keeping the beach clean. The 1.5hrs went too quickly, but we managed to collect a good bit of rubbish. As we said our goodbyes, Lynn found a heart-shaped stone/crystal and took it home to put in her treasure jar.
