Find out about GoodGym TaskForce
Report written by Michelle
Alan, Michelle and Luis helped Jan, lead volunteer with The Friends of Turnham Green, to tidy and water the meadow and rockery on this super sunny Saturday.
Luis had been sceptical about what he might offer in the way of help on the task, as his right arm is in a sling thanks to a recent accident. But there was plenty to do and Luis was in charge of watering the plants in the rockery.
Alan was on weeding and litterpicking and I took the strimmer for a spin. First job was cutting a path to the tap installed by the council. Followed by strimming a corner of the meadow which hasn’t been seeded. Alan took over when my arms started to ache and we ensured the patch was cut back sufficiently for the flowers to be seen from the rockery. Jan will be back with the Friends of Turnham Green to finish the job with some mowing and further weeding this week.
This just left time for a group photo and Alan to reveal his action shot of Luis, looking rather dubious while watering. Matt Nash look away now!
