Another Wednesday night, and this time, dark when we started, we gathered at Leisure World ready to run and do some work for Colchester in Bloom. Because of the expected darkness, we had planned to do bulb planting in the town centre, but C in B seem to like our evenings on the allotment in darkness, because of how much work we can get done, so we made our way up to the Bergholt Road allotments again, and yes, you guessed it, we had to move that shed again! We also got involved in stripping some willow - most of these pieces can be used for canes when growing climbing plants next year, but the really small spindly pieces were set to feature in the bug hotel. These bugs pay for their extraordinary view of Colchester from the height's of Braiswick, and apparently willow strippings are a sought after feature in such a hotel, as well as bricks, tubing and other bits and pieces. The hotel was also set up so that if hedgehogs wanted to visit they would be most welcome too, however, the spa facilities aren't due to open until next year. Fantastic amount of work in 30 minutes by 14 runners and as always, Pam and Steven were really pleased.

After the run back to Leisure World, some of the gang made their way to the Old New Inn pub, where we will be having our Christmas meal. Make sure to contact Ian or Tav if you want to book your place.

Fantastic running, and goodgym cheer everyone! And credit to Michelle for the title of this piece, which was somewhat less rude than other suggestions!
