Pirates save plastic from the sea!

Portsmouth Report written by Katie London

Avast, me hearties! Two brave goodgymers and four wee buccaneers set sail on Southsea Beach, scouring for treasures! They plundered the sands and found all manner of junk—newspapers, rockets, and crisp packets, oh me! Not to mention string, rope, and lollypop sticks, all saved from the belly of the deep! With each find, they kept fish from getting a taste of the trashy treasure. A jolly good haul, aye, for the love of the sea!

Squirrelling away the litter

Portsmouth Report written by Katie London

Loads of fabulous Goodgymers braved the windy weather to litter pick in Bransbury Park. Goodgym were inspiring the little Squirrel Scouts and showing them the joys of litter picking or as one 5 yr old said - with full excitement and unabashed enthusiasm - it's a rubbish treasure hunt!!! Best find were a camo hat and wizards wand (which might have been a vape :)

Stepping In To Environmental Activism

Portsmouth Report written by Jen Stoneham

Our target was to save 100km of car journeys for our No Car Day... and we absolutely smashed it! With a few results waiting to come in, we're already at 150km!

Our top 3 kilometre savers were Dave (17.5km), Katie (16km) and Jane (14km) - well done to them and everyone else for going the extra (literal) mile.

And hopefully we'll also be adding plenty of kilometres to our January Challenge distance target too - double winning!

Not 4 candles. Just 1 fork handle.

Portsmouth Report written by Judy Knapp

A fork handle was just one of the large pieces of rubbish we found at Tipner beach on New Year's Eve, as well as the multiple pieces of plastic and polystyrene.

But we were an enthusiastic bunch of GoodGymers and mini GGers (+ 1 partner) and we tackled the task with gusto.

After just 45 minutes in the strong wind, we carried away 2 full black sacks and multiple small bags of recyclables.

Well done everyone for all the hard work at Tipner during 2023!

Don't be a plum use the Mattock

Portsmouth Report written by Katie London

3 Goodgymers helped the Tree wardens to plant some lovely cherry, pear and plum trees as part of the Queen's green canopy jubilee project. We were gift warm snuggly hoodie- veey briefly! - and had fun using spades, hammers and the huge pile driver thingy to good effect. Some Goodgym offspring also joined in the fun!
