Last night for our group run, we went to a block of flats in Kennington Park Road, to help the community there with their garden.
Firstly, we met at Old Spike which was the start of our run. We welcomed some newbies Diana, Sam and Nancy. Then after a quick warm up, we split into two groups and set off to Kennington at two different paces. Daryl's group were first to arrive, also meeting them there was James, Lindy and Richard. They all got stuck in the the first task, which was to move a shed. Diana, Nelly and I joined after. We all were given a variety of different tasks: moving soil, assembling furniture, trimming bushes and raking leaves.
Sandy and the rest of the TRA were really happy to have us. We made a big difference in the short amount of time. Well done all!

Tonight we ran 3km from Old Spike to the Old Alleynian Rugby Club. We were met by Ian and were put to work clearing ivy away from the path. It looked a lot better but the time we were finished. As a reward we played a game of touch rugby after which was a lot of fun. Before we left Ian treated us to mini rolls to fuel us for our run back to Peckham.

7 Goodgym Southwark members ran off on a slightly chilly Wednesday night to Elmington Community Garden...
We arrived, and were met by Mansur, Sam, Lindy and Jessie who joined us at the task. Together we hauled woodchip to three different parts of the Elmington Estate, making sure the soil stays moist in this dry spring and stopping the growth of new weeds.
For those that did run to and from Old Spike, Nathan had bought some sweet treats back from Colombia - que bueno Señor Wood!
