Another year of the 2020s, another Christmas Zoom Quiz! Let's hope this isn't a tradition for much longer!
It was a hotly fought contest of who could look the most puzzled whilst wearing a festive hat! Although it is, of course, all about taking part, we did add up the scores. Congrats to the podium of Jo North (bronze medal) and Jo Sprout and Jen in joint Gold medal position. We definitely need to give Jo S a better nickname though!
We then moved onto the awards of the evening... You can see them all here. Thanks again to everyone, you all make GoodGym what it is - a lovely positive place to be!
And finally, the raffle, with plenty of sugary treats (mostly donated by City of Portsmouth AC) now spread around the group!
Hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year.
And I'm sure John would like me to remind you that you can always volunteer for a shift at the vaccine clinic if you have a spare moment 😂

I'm the warm snug Comfort of our dwellings little Goodgym elves made, wrote, coloured and created Christmas cards and decorations to be sent to local nursing home residents by the Hive. We then ran, walked, skipped and possibly elvishly flew them to the Hive to distribute.

What an awesome recycling team we had, collecting the bottles was not an easy task this year.... Colas had put out stooopid recycling bins, only labelled on one side.... so they didnt work and trying to pull bottles out of the big bins was hard work.
The GoodGym crew as always gave it their best shot, it was great to meet and have Emma and Joanne on board, they walked all the way to Canoe Lake collecting discarded bottles!!!! Harry bought their buddy along, they made a great job of collecting all the bottles as runners crossed the start line. Sinéad was epic and did the double (two days of listening to me moan on....thankyou Sinead!). Lynn and Catherine teamed up - it was lovely to catch up with them when we all met back in the Marquee for lunch 😊. Rosie and India also had to put up with me worrying/moaning about the task in hand..... but they were super supportive and kind and lovely and happily collected as many bottles as they could.
The great thing about the day was that it felt like all of GG Portsmouth were out, either running, cheering or recycling and somehow we all managed to see each other, a lovely GG family event.

Emma and Jo had already started their litter pick on the walk down to the meeting point so they already had half a bin bag full before we all met up!
All the usual suspects were picked up with plenty in the recycling bag (now decanted into Tony's dad's green bin and the Morrison's recycling bin). Jo & Emma ticked off the sock from the bingo card and I had just been telling them about finding glasses when Tony found a pair by the dog bin....
We made the decision to go back via the car park off Burrfields Rd where we found a whole bag of shopping dumped as well as numerous cups and wrappers from the local drive throughs.
4 bags filled by 4 people.... That's an impressive hour's work. Good public service by community minded folk!

We had a very productive but relaxed morning with lots of chatting, sorting and belching (although that may have just been me).
Our brain cells were also put to the test with having to convert US and European sizes to UK ones.
Nick and Jo carried on beavering away until Midday after I got called away to a family emergency - Naomi House were incredibly grateful for their hard work!
