After his outing to the O2 last night, Richard just couldn't get Kylie out of his head, so our evening at the Salvation Army garden was inspired by Ms Minogue.
The runners set in (Loco)motion, all with their 100 Wings on for the occasion. Two extra good deeds were also undertaken on the way - Jen reporting a crime and Judy helping a young man with directions to the train station.
After we'd been Spinning Around trying to find the right building, we headed to the family garden to pull weeds and offer a general tidy up. The Kids had left plenty of treasure to be unearthed, including a number of eggs left over from April's Easter Egg Hunt, a tiny horse who liked to curtsey, Lego and various insects on sticks amongst the litter and weeds.
We Should Be So Lucky to have such lovely hosts, who provided biscuits, water and a visit to their resident Leopard Gecko, Gigi. I know I'd love to Step Back In Time and visit again, I don't know about you!
Apologies for the strained use of Kylie Minogue puns, but you wouldn't have me any other way - Better The Devil You Know!

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS TO JUDY, who completed her 800th Good Deed this evening! What an outstanding achievement!
After some celebratory Jelly Babies (and ice-creams for those lacking in willpower), the runners completed the 2km Run Walk Local route before joining in with the litter pick.
Paddleboard UK had provided us with some new folding litter pickers and some super-strong rubbish sacks, so we got stuck in with cleaning the water ways of Hilsea Moat.
Only Jen was brave enough to de-shoe and paddle out to retrieve some litter, whilst others channeled their inner gymnast to balance, bend and extend to reach the discarded plastic bottles and cans. Thanks to Val and Andy for providing a Generation Game-esque relay handover from the banks to the Moat!
We pulled out a pair of socks, a rugby ball and a bike saddle, complete with post, as some of our more intriguing finds.
The ducks and swans seemed very satisfied when they returned to their freshly cleaned homes - great job everyone!

Dave and I visited the Bridge Centre to check on the new flowerbeds we helped to plant back in February.
Our friends from Make have been keeping on top of the watering, so a little weeding and litter picking was all that was needed.
Standard mini-booze bottle found by Dave - this seems to be a popular community garden find!

The rain couldn't quite hold off for tonight's Group Run, but our intrepid crew battled the elements and the weeds regardless.
Laura joined us for her first Group Run and got well stuck in the weeding the flower beds alongside Andy and Lucy. The rest of the team took on the jungle ahead of the back wall, filling an entire large garden waste bin and five bin bags! We finished up by spreading some wood chip to help stop some of the weeds coming back.
We made such a massive difference in a short space of time - well done everyone! A rainbow even made an appearance to send us on our way.
