On another quaint evening at Marlpit Community Gardens, GoodGym lent a hand or few.

Stephen had the grand job or repositioning a mass pile of horse manure, which he made light work of!

The rest of us were raking up piles of the cut long grass.

Congratulations to Liz who was completing her 10th GoodGym deed.

To finish the evening, they allowed us to pick some berries for self consumption.

We had a great turnout for an evening of bracken pulling at Mousehold Heath.

It was a shock (but a very pleasant one) to see the return of Panda Dave, who was actually completing his 50th GoodGym deed!

Will the Warden took us to an area of the heath where the evasive bracken was preventing the heather from thriving. So our task was to clear as much bracken as possible, to allow the heather to breath and flower.

It never ceases to amaze me how much the team get done. We transformed the area we were working in.

Leo and Emrys (the GG Norwich mascots) also enjoyed the evening.

This week marked 8 years of GoodGym Norwich.

During those 8 years we have completed 8,411 good deeds by 469 different people, and have actively traveled nearly 155,000 km. 53 GoodGymers have completed 50x good deeds and 25 GoodGymers have completed 100x good deeds.

Tonight was also Stephen Knock's 50th good deed!!

Our task to Sue Lambert Trust was canceled last minute, so we did a bit of a littler pick around the Norwich Cathedral grounds, then nestled there for a picnic on a glorious summer evening.

Here's to the next 8 years!

A steamy evening saw an EPIC north walsham 5K and Goodgymers Tasha & myself marshalling along with Steve

There were only 4 of us (plus Leo), but we still managed to make a big impact and made the areas more accessible again.

We returned to Aslake Community Growers.

There were a few keys tasks to complete this evening.

• Bill, Stephen and Jonathan were digging to the base of green house 1. A very challenging task it was!
• Everyone else at the start moved lots of plant pots to allow for the hedge to be trimmed back.
• Elizabeth, Katy and Rose were snipping and bagging up previous sticks and brambles that we previously cut back.
• Myself, Jen and Maddy started to cut back the hedges.

Well done everyone, you put in a great shift.

It was another lovely summer evening at Marlpit Community Gardens.

The main take was to do some weeding around the vegetable patches.

We were kindly treated to some red lettuces.

Fellow GoodGymmers Elizabeth, Tasha, Bill, Katy and I helped with marshalling the EPIC 5k in Aylsham, which had a fantastic turnout. The runners all passed by very quickly, including one of our own GoodGymmers, another Elizabeth.

The star of the show and centre of attention was Leo, the new GoodGym Norwich puppy mascot.

We visited the ever popular Mousehold Heath to start the summer task of pulling up bracken, to help conserve the heathland.

Thank you to Bill and Katy for bringing along some fresh homegrown strawberries.
