Ms Y has a sweet tooth and she is taking full advantage of the offers that the Co-Op is having during the McVitie’s Chocolate Digestive Centenary - the big packet was much cheaper than the small packet this week, so she celebrated with some plain digestives too!
For the avoidance of doubt, all biscuits were paid for!

This week’s shop for the lovely Mr J followed a similar pattern to recent weeks - dropping something off at his GP’s surgery; buying pumpkin, plantain and beetroot from the market, along with a range of things at ASDA. The one thing that was different was the request to buy a toilet brush from a 99p shop. I did explain that it would probably be more than that due to inflation. I did find one that seemed appropriate, which Mr J though was perfect and proclaimed that I was a ‘Toilet Brush Expert!’ I will add this to the virtual crown for being ‘King of the Bowl’ at Catford parkrun. In case you inadvertently link the two, ‘The Bowl’ is the name given to a flat area of the course and I am the only volunteer who correctly places them according to the Event Director.

This is one of my regular missions - I’d dropped off the lovely Ms E’s heavy laundry at the laundrette close to where I live. She has a small flat and finds it difficult to dry the washing at home. She used to take it to the laundrette herself but her mobility issues now make this impossible. Today’s task was picking it up for Ms E and taking it back to her fla t and having a chat with her.

I was about to go out and do some intervals when I saw the message about Ms O needing a prescription picking up for her- she’s a lovely woman, but gets quite anxious about running out of her medication. The pharmacy seemed surprised that she needed anything but had experienced problems with their phone so she hadn’t been able to speak to them. A quick call to Ms O then passing my phone to the pharmacist sorted the problem out, and I delivered the prescription a few minutes later to the relieved Ms O. As for the intervals, they were done en route.

Adi and Paul partnered to pick Lewisham litter on dull, damp days. Adi was in Sydenham's Mayow Park, Paul in Deptford's Brookmill Park. In adddition to a black sack full of litter, Paul saw the early stages of courting rituals of both the herons and the Egyptian geese as wel, as a fleeting glimpse of a kingfisher.

This was an almost unintentional mission - I had planned to shop for someone else but wasn’t quick enough signing up! So I saw another shop listed about 5 minutes walk from home.
Mr G wasn’t really prepared for a GG shopper, he had no list and wasn’t sure how he was going to pay. We soon realised though that we had a lot in common and chatted for ages; it transpired that a close friend that he’d lost touch with when they moved out of London was still in touch with me and was coming to stay next weekend!
The shop at Lidl took 20 minutes but start to finish was 1:45 - we had a brilliant time.
