4GG-ers went to help the Brownies earn their first aid badge.
Katie, Jen and Dave acted out a scenario of a casualty and an emergency call for an ambulance before the brownies split into groups to learn the best practice of information taking
We then taught them the AVPU reponsiveness scale, the primary survey and the recovery position. With one Alice patient who was the most wriggly-giggly unresponsive person known!
Huge congratulations and high fives to Yvonne for completing her tenth GG task and to Katie for a whopping 500!!! The first bearer of the GG Royalty crown.

First of all a big welcome to Caroline on her first good deed - give her a cheer! She and 3 other GoodGymers met at North End Baptist church to teach First Aid to a group of Brownies!
We arrived to a room filled with young girls excitedly running around, before they gathered in a chorus of the Brownie's promise, followed by introductions for us to begin their lesson. Jen kindly stepped up to the task of the first walk through presentation with the lovely Maura acting as her dummy.
After the initial presentation of DR ABC & the recovery position, we split the girls up into smaller groups so they could take turns having a go themselves. There was a variety of acting skills, ranging from those too ticklish to stay "unconscious" during the recovery position portion, to others pretending to be sick and getting really into it. Overall I think everyone had a good laugh and we ended the evening with another chorus - this time thank yous from the girls!
