That’s a Wrap

Thursday 14th December 2023

Written by Steven Hitcham

This evening we wrapped presents for shoppers who wished to donate to Break charity to have it done.

Despite it being late not shopping it was relatively quiet so we only had a handful of presents to wrap. Despite that it was still a festive evening, made more so by my unforgettable voice

Do-you-think-they-saurus clean them?

Monday 1st August 2022

Written by Steven Hitcham

Cleaning the GoGo Discover trails is always a fun task, and produces great some great photos, how many T-Rex's can you spot?

A big welcome to Nicky and Paul (my brother from another mother) who were taking part in their first GoodGym encounters.

The lovely Sarah was making an appearance after moving to New Zealand 3.5 years ago, sadly its just a flying visit but we really appreciate her making the effort to come to GoodGym while she's back.

So tonight's task was to clean as many of the T-Rex's as we can... and as you can see from the photos, we did a lot of them!!!

The hard work was rewarded with a visit to the pub.

Hunny Bell Cross Country.... Water Water 💧

Sunday 27th February 2022

Written by Michelle

A bright but little bit chilly and a bit breezy morning saw myself and Elizabeth on the Water station.

A little more Water in each cup than required to keep them on the table (we only lost one to the wind!) And we were all set up!

Watching the juniors start off on their 1 lap course and cheering them to the finish.

A small break and a chat to runners and a lovely man dressed as an old lady running as part of a group and we saw the runners off.

Lots of water handed out. Loads of cheering and soon our duties were over!

Quick pack up and then to see some runners finish.

Coffee and cake followed before a lovely drive home in the sun 🌞

Cleanasaurus

Monday 16th August 2021

Written by Steven Hitcham

There was much anticipation ahead of this task after cleaning the GoGo Hares a couple of years ago.

There are 20 GoGo T-Rex's spread across our fine city of Norwich. Tracey from Break (who are the organisers of the GoGo trails), met us to provide us with the cleaning kits and to get a group photo in front of the Prideasaurus.

We split into 2 groups with one group cleaning the 7 T-Rex's that were furthest away. The other group cleaned more but in a smaller area.

It was the perfect task for GoodGym and really got us back into the spirit of what we're all about.

Each T-Rex was numbered 1-20 so me and Fraser decided to do the number of push-ups of each number we cleaned in our group, which equated to 91 push-ups.

We even cleaned the T-Rex's teeth so they were sparkling clean.

Next week's Group Run is on Tuesday as we visit Oak Grove Community Church.

DoYouThinkTheySaurus? 🦖

Tuesday 31st August 2021

7 GoodGymers roared into action as we were tasked with giving the GoGo T-Rex's another clean after the bank holiday weekend.

A big welcome to Becky who was taking part in her first GoodGym activity.

Brad, Penny, Jonathan and Mark formed one group who headed off to clean the T-Rex's further afield while Liz, Becky and myself did the group of T-Rex's that were more central.

It was another great evening with lots of colourful photos.

Next week we're visiting Mousehold Heath again.

Rampant Runners Rabbiting Really Wrapped Raffle Rewards

Monday 2nd March 2020

Written by Steven Hitcham

This was a task for inspiration (not my respiration) as the more we did, the more funds we'd help raise for Break Charity.

A big GoodGym welcome to Ian who was doing his first good deed and well done to Niki and Mark for completing 10 good deeds each.

Following a 4.5km run each-way, we were tasked with making as many Easter Hampers as we could in 45 minutes, which will then go to businesses to sell in a raffle to their employees with the hope that each one would raise over £100. So the more we made, the more fund raising possibilities.

For someone who is giving up chocolate for lent, I could only describe being around so much chocolate as pure torture.

Dave took 8 GoodGymers over to the lock-up (oh-er) to sort through some beer donations... Bobby jumped straight to the opportunity haha. They also got a sneaky glimpse of the GoGo T-Rex's.

Everyone had different duties with the hampers. We had people on the different items, making the ribbons, cutting the cellophane sheets, collecting the items, wrapping the hampers and transporting them to the end room. We nailed it!

We ended up making around 35 hampers so we're looking forward to hearing how much they raise in total come Easter.

Next week I'll try not to drop my balls as we play Bingo with residents at Violet Elvin Court.
