Dan Solo aboard the Millennium Green 🛸

Saturday 6th November 2021

There was noone about at Millennium Green today (save for a lone dog walker) and with the tools locked-away in the shed there wasn’t a whole lot of good I could do.

Nonetheless the place was looking pretty good in terms of weeds and litter.

Digging in the rain

Saturday 21st August 2021

Written by Daniel Mermelstein

A group of five goodgymmers met at Cricklewood Millenium Green in north London to help a group of local volunteers keep the park beautiful for visitors. It drizzled without interruption for the two hours we were there but that did not dampen our enthusiasm! We cut the lawn with their new lawn mower, dug and weeded all around the park. By the time we finished it looked so much better than when we started. Thank you to the Green's volunteers for inviting us to help them.

Summer evening gardening

Thursday 13th May 2021

Written by Daniel Mermelstein

Four Goodgym members, Valentina, Pete, Paul and I, went down to Cricklewood Millenium Green to join a group of hard-working local volunteers working to spruce up this urban gem. We mowed lawns, planted flowers and trimmed trees. It had been raining earlier on, but the evening was dry and sunny and it was a joy being outside. We look forward to more of this as the lockdown eases! Well done to everyone!

Gardening in the sun

Saturday 24th April 2021

Written by Daniel Mermelstein

Six GoodGym volunteers joined a group of local activists for a packed morning of gardening and litter picking at the Cricklewood Millennium Green. It was a glorious sunny day and everyone was itching to leave the lockdown blues behind. We received a warm welcome from the Geen's trustees and volunteers, who have a shed-load of implements. A whole load of plants donated by the local B&Q were produced and we set to digging. It was hard work on hard ground, but we made good progress and left looking better than when we arrived. There is plenty more work to do and we look forward to helping the Millennium Green volunteers make their space even more attractive and welcoming. Special mention to Claudia, who came despite being more than seven months pregnant! I guess we could saay that we were seven GG volunteers!
