When I Zig, You Zag!!

Tuesday 30th July

Written by Yianny (he / him)

As expected a beautiful summer's evening last night for a bit of GoodGyming.

Another week and another new GGer joined us - Ethaan it was lovely to have you with us and we hope to see you fir more sessions over the summer!

We had a last minute task cancellation so instead we were off to do some flyering of the local area for GoodGym (our fave cause!) with the three flyer-teers including Tilly and AA Yianny.

After a 2.3km run in just over 12 mins we grabbed the leaflets and started out zigzagging the roads closest to Papa's to see if that would generate interest from folks based close to our base. Tilly also managed to drop off some at the local student accommodation on her way home which was great.

In no time we had covered two large blocks and the end of Pulross Road and it was time to head home.

Big thanks to all and see you next time!

Fly(er) Hard with A Vengeance !!

Tuesday 23rd January

Written by Yianny (he / him)

Last night we had a special task - raising awareness of our very own GoodGym around the Brixton and Clapham area to drum up lots of new interest.

With 9 people signed up things were looking ominous at 6:45pm when no one had yet turned up to meet AA at Papa's but then Super Sam was first in and slowly others started to join us.

We had a few new faces to welcome which is always lovely, once Jacob and Rose managed to find us stashed away in Papa's community hall we were delighted to welcome them along, great to have you with us both!

We kicked off with our introductions and a question from Yianny - If there was a zombie apocalypse what unique skill would you bring to the group to help us survive? Some great answers and skills were on show but Tilly's abilities to make clothing from organic materials and Fi's hide and seek skills were the winners in my book!

Louise we are still waiting for your answer - feel free to drop it in the comments below!!

We then set off to distribute as many flyers as we could by 8pm and we had the nice surprise of Jo managing to get to us after work and join just as we headed out so added another member to our group - fantastic.

The next 40 minutes passed by in a hurry despite the blustery and slightly soggy conditions as the group covered the residential roads from Clapham North back down towards our base.

With that all said and done we met back at Papa's for our group photo and a look ahead to what is coming up in Lambeth and Southwark as we head into the final week of the January Challenge next week.

Thanks everyone and see you next time :0)
