After a short run from the Crook Log Sports Crntre we arrived at Parkview Care Home. Martin was already there with board games at the ready!
Martin was in charge of the dominoes, Lisa took on the word games and I was the Snakes + Ladders person.
The residents soon got stuck shaking the dice. Martin then became our quiz master, reading out questions which really got everyone thinking!
We found short games and activities better to keep the residents engaged.
We ended with a good old sing-song! Everyone enjoyed it and joined in by tapping their feet, clapping or singing!
Well done all! Our visits really do make a difference for the residents.
Thank you to Annette for hosting us on this visit. We'll be back next month, so come along and join us. Can you beat resident Catherine at Boggle?

It was party time at Parkview Care Home, and we were there to help with the preparations!
There were trestle tables to put up, patio chairs to wipe down and bring indoors, tables to be moved aside, serviettes to be folded, plates to be put out, and festive hats to be given out.
All of this set to a Christmas tunes playlist, and lots of chatting with the residents.
After a spin around the room with the drinks trolley, it was time for us to head off with cheery "merry Christmas!" wishes as we said our goodbyes.
Welcome to GG Bexley, Bassey. We're glad to have you with us now you've moved to our patch from Croydon.

We had a treemendous time decorating the trees at Parkview Care Home last night!
After some of us ran to the task from the sports centre, we met up with Andy, the care home activity co-ordinator, and the other GoodGymers.
We split into two groups in order to decorate the trees in different lounges, with the help of some of the residents. We had a lot of fun chatting with them and sorting through all the baubles.
In no time at all the trees were done and it was time for us to go.
Ho ho ho until next time ✨️!

We visit Parkview Care Home once a month, and this time we embraced the spirit of Halloween doing some frightfully fun pumpkin carving with the residents!
No tricks, this was a real treat, and so lovely to have everyone getting involved.
For many of us, it was our first attempt at pumpkin art and we think the results are rather spook-tacular! 🎃
We loved spending time with the residents and the care home team, and we'll be back again at the end of November.

Today was National Fitness Day! We certainly contributed to it by walking/running to the task tonight! Our job was to clean the mini bus inside and out! We all got on with the job helped by two of the residents , David and Ken who were a delight! Team member Amy got us all we needed to make the bus sparkling clean! We can't wait for our next visit!

What a lovely afternoon helping at Parkview Care Home's Summer Party!
It was down to work as soon as we arrived!
Johnny was put on bunting duty, while Cat, Sarah and Martin were in charge of balloons to complete the decorations.
Then it was Pimms o'clock, mixing jugs of the cocktail and serving it - along with beer and soft drinks - to the residents and guests.
After that we helped with the raffle, before lending a hand to those who needed it at the buffet table.
The grand finale was handing round portions of that amazing cake, making sure no-one was forgotten.
After a spot of tidying up we said our goodbyes and headed home, happy that we'd helped the party go with a swing.
