Que Ciara, Ciara

Monday 10th February 2020

Bexley News...

Tonight the hardcore GoodGym Bexley team met at Crook Log. Ciara might have been kicking off outside, but that didn't put off the 7 runners who were still up for some good deed action!

Unfortunately , the prospect of a nice warm, indoor task at the care home was abandoned as it was canceled last minute.

Luckily, we had some leaflets that the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice wanted us to distribute. They want to spread the word of the community lottery.

We split into 2 teams.

The Runners

and

The Walkers

The running group headed out on an out and back, aiming to meet the walkers on their way back.

The walking group started on the leaflet drop straight away.

We managed to keep hold of most of the leaflets, without any blowing away. After no time, we were out of leaflets.

We headed back to Crook Log and discussed the upcoming tasks.

Well done tonight!!! I hope everyone has thawed out ๐Ÿฅถ

Until next time,

Happy Running!!!

It was a chilly evening as the group met at Crook Log. Everyone had come prepped with hats, gloves and coats in an attempt to try and stay warm throughout the evenings task.

We headed outside to complete our warm up before quickly heading off to Parkview Care Home.

The walking group took the more direct route, and the running group went on a slight detour to make up a further distance and arrive in time with the walking group.

Upon arrival at Parkview we were met by Lydia who handed us leaflets for their Christmas Fair. Our job was to get rid of these on a quick leaflet drop around the local streets. We still had leaflets left over from last week, so had a double leaflet drop!

We split into two groups who headed off down 2 roads. After a short while, we met at the point where the roads join! Still armed with some leaflets, we made our way back to base, delivering on the way!.

Tonight 10 runners ran to help at Parkview care home.

The change in temperature and risk of rain didn't deter the hardcore Bexley team!

We met inside Crook Log leisure centre ready for tonights task.

After a quick head count and warmup, the walkers headed off on the direct route to the task, while the runners took a slightly longer route.

Upon arrival, we were greeted by the team at Parkview who had drinks at the ready. We went through to the garden area where there were 2 gazebos which needed dismantling and packing away. After a while the walkers arrived and helped fold down the gazebos, take apart the poles and fold the tarpaulin cover to pack away.

Once both gazebos were out of sight, we went through to the 2 mini buses which needed cleaning.

It was broomin' marvelous!

With buckets, brooms and hose pipe at the ready we set to work cleaning both minibuses in our darkest task since the beginning of summer!

Both buses were sparkling clean and it was time to leave.

Great work tonight Bexley!

Until next time...

Happy running!
