It was a hot run ๐ฅต from the Crook Log Sports Center tonight but arrived to cups of water awaiting us with team member Amanda! We also had the pleasure of meeting the resident ginger cat relaxing in the cool office! We decided to help in the garden area by weeding, sweeping and watering ๐ฆ. Resident Joe joined us helping with cutting back the mint ๐ and Pamela help cutting the lavender to make fragrant bouquets. Time went so quickly and the heat subsided into a lovely evening! We are already looking forward to our next visit!

And we met the care home cat, Ginger, who seems to have a very comfortable life!

What a fabulous evening we had at the Parkview Care Home! After running 2km from the Sports Centre and with Martin on his bike, we met up with Sarah & Johnny already there.
Amy took us through to the inner garden area where there was plenty of patio furniture that needed our attention after being stacked up over the winter.
Johnny and Lisa placed an old bench in the skip after braking it up with a sledge hammer ๐จ! Certainly made them feel better afterwards!
Two of the residents joined in with sweeping the area ๐งน which helped us and we were finished in no time!
Looking forward to going back soon!

Tonight we helped with sanding down two garden benches at the Parkview Care Home. One group ran from the Crook Log sports centre and the other group met there. We received a warm welcome from Andy and Annette who provided refreshments upon arrival. We soon got on with the job of sanding down the benches ready for the residents to paint them. Andy wanted to know more about Goodgym and said he was impressed with what we do! Luke was photographer this evening and done an excellent job! We are looking forward to going back soon!

Bexley News...
Tonight the hardcore GoodGym Bexley team met at Crook Log. Ciara might have been kicking off outside, but that didn't put off the 7 runners who were still up for some good deed action!
Unfortunately , the prospect of a nice warm, indoor task at the care home was abandoned as it was canceled last minute.
Luckily, we had some leaflets that the Greenwich and Bexley Hospice wanted us to distribute. They want to spread the word of the community lottery.
We split into 2 teams.
The Runners
and
The Walkers
The running group headed out on an out and back, aiming to meet the walkers on their way back.
The walking group started on the leaflet drop straight away.
We managed to keep hold of most of the leaflets, without any blowing away. After no time, we were out of leaflets.
We headed back to Crook Log and discussed the upcoming tasks.
Well done tonight!!! I hope everyone has thawed out ๐ฅถ
Until next time,
Happy Running!!!

It was a chilly evening as the group met at Crook Log. Everyone had come prepped with hats, gloves and coats in an attempt to try and stay warm throughout the evenings task.
We headed outside to complete our warm up before quickly heading off to Parkview Care Home.
The walking group took the more direct route, and the running group went on a slight detour to make up a further distance and arrive in time with the walking group.
Upon arrival at Parkview we were met by Lydia who handed us leaflets for their Christmas Fair. Our job was to get rid of these on a quick leaflet drop around the local streets. We still had leaflets left over from last week, so had a double leaflet drop!
We split into two groups who headed off down 2 roads. After a short while, we met at the point where the roads join! Still armed with some leaflets, we made our way back to base, delivering on the way!.
