On Wednesday evening James, Anne and myself met at the Run Company shop to join in their monthly plogging task.
As always Karl provided all equipment and a warm welcome.
In total there was 7 of us, we started off with a bit of a chat about future run plans and holidays and then set off towards the six crossroad roundabouts.
We managed to run all of about 200m before finding some rubbish round the back of the council offices… from here the running stopped and turned into a very sociable walk.
There was a constant stream of litter along Chertsey Road, including a few car parts! In total we collected 4 bags of litter and all enjoyed the fading evening daylight.
Next week we are back at the Knaphill Community Fridge / Holy Trinty Pre School to help them out with some maintenance tasks which could involve jet washing…lets hope it’s a nice evening!

On Wednesday 24/05, Lauren and Anne met at the Run Company shop, ready to complete our monthly plogging task.
Karl was happy to see us, but even happier when we opted out of dragging him to pick up litter: no one else turned up for this task.
As Lauren is still recovering from her injured ankle, we decided to jog along the canal to ease her into training for the 10K at Dorney Lake in July. It was rather hot, but we managed to do a 3K circuit.
We hope to see you this coming Sunday to help at Junior parkrun when James is the Run Director.
Happy running to you all.

This Evening was a special GG Run It was the launch of Woking GG & Raleigh Launch. The partnership will bring more people to GoodGym to support older people and community groups, with a focus on incorporating cycling further into the GoodGym way of life.🚴♀️
We all met at the Run Company as tonight we were carrying out our joint mission of litter picking around the town band it was a great turn out from both clubs.
Holly came down with some tasty treats for the launch which went down very well. With litter picks and black bags in hand off we went we headed through Town to the new woodland area tracks on the common.
James was was wearing his fetching Ivory Coast socks 🇨🇮. Before we even got the woods we had collected so much rubbish. We were all talking about the London Marathon and how after watching it on telly makes you want to do it.
Lauren has put her name in the ballot and Ben and myself will be doing the same.
Once in the woods we followed the trail tracks around and over the many new bridges over the ponds. As we navigated around the tracks James, Ben and myself decided to have a sprint race over a few bridges 😄.
Once we regrouped with the rest of the team we split into two groups and went around the playing field to cover more ground by the time we got back to the shop we had a bout 6 full bags.
James is run director this Sunday at Junior Park Run so if anyone is available to volunteer it would help out greatly.
Next Wednesday we are back at the All Saints Church Woodham to carry out some gardening and painting duties. 😄

Adam, James, and Anne met at the Run Company shop in the town centre. We all ran towards the Jack and Jill steps picking up litter on the way.
Woking is quite clean these days; I am sure this monthly run with the Run Company helps greatly. We managed to fill 4 rubbish bags. The sky opened halfway through, giving the pavements a good clean and us a kind of cold shower.
Best wishes to Lauren, Adam and James who will go to Brighton this Sunday to run a 10K. We are looking forward to hearing all about it!
Next Wednesday our group run will be to the Community Fridge in Knaphill where we will clean the cabin. As we come from various areas of Woking, we will organise on our WhatsApp group where to start our runs, but the meeting is at the Community Fridge from 6:45pm.
In the meantime, happy running to everyone!

On Wednesday 6 GoodGymers, Adam, Anne, Ben, James, Kirsty and Wayne, ran to the Woking Run Company for the monthly litter picking mission done with the local council’s support.
It is always a great opportunity to meet other runners and, while plogging, to introduce them to GoodGym and suggest they join one of our group runs.
The 5 kms “triangle route” was not covered with rubbish, we usually fill up many more bags. Mind you, it was dark and one of the main long roads, unlit, was practically without any cars because of roadwork. In winter the lights of the car help supplement our head/chest torches to find litters.
Ben was missed last week when we did some gardening in Brookwood as he was working in Cornwall. Ben is going back there next week and will run up and down the Cornish hills. James is taking part in Wokingham half marathon this Sunday in preparation for the Surrey Half when Adam will join him.
Wayne is doing lots of circuits training and cycling when he is not running. Kirsty is back running too and trains with Lauren for different 10k events they have signed for.
On Sunday, the Woking junior parkrun volunteers ‘s roster is rather bare. If you could spare some time, please do sign up and join the best Woking GG team ever!
Next week we will welcome Rob, a new GoodGymer, when we do another session of litter picking in the local area.
Happy running to everyone.
