Report written by Katie Carew-Robinson (she/her)
A big GoodGym Portsmouth welcome to Alex who joined us for his first GoodGym session and managed to pick our longest run! He deserves a cheer for that for sure.
A quick mention to Rosie who didn't make it to the run due to a close encounter with the pavement on the way up - hope your knee isn't too sore tomorrow.
Tonight we returned to the Lido. The summer season is now over so it was maintenance and decorating tasks for the gang tonight. As always, the team was super efficient and got loads done in the time we had: plant pot painting; bench removals (a different kind of bench press); plant watering and painting the bottom of the blue lagoon.
The sunset was beautiful and attracted the bats and ducks in for a dip in the water. We sported various hi-viz and lights on our way back to Fratton and even got a friendly toot from the Fire Engine as it headed back up to Cosham after having it's blue lights on outside the Pizza House!
Great running by everyone tonight but special mentions to the duracell bunny Southern Jo who had spent too much time sat down today and had boundless energy, Angela who was completing a long run after a hard power lifting session this morning and Judy who, despite her reservations, managed to run the entire distance tonight. Superb stuff.
Next week we head south to St Swithun's to help out caretaker Chris again. There's also a beach clean community mission on Saturday 6th. The following week is #runandtalk week and we have an extra run (no task) on Thursday 11th details here.
Happy running all and stay safe on your travels. See you soon!
