A beautiful day saw 12 goodgymers get together ready for some volunteering at Cwtch Together. We met outside Sport Wales in the Sun a group of eleven, with 1 meeting us there. The walker / joggers set off first chatting and enjoying the sunshine, closely followed by the runners. Through the streets and then the park, it was a really pleasant journey in the Cardiff Sun. Arriving with plenty of time, we said our hellos to Sarah – the task organiser – before heading into the storage room to get out the tools for the evening. With the combination of rain and sun that we had experienced the garden had shot up in just a fortnight, so today we were going to complete the task! Strimming and mowing like there was no tomorrow, quite a large green space, ready for the teddy bears picnic over the coronation. And all the weeding that you could ever hope for – if only we could come to your garden space! Finally, to finish off the look, Sarah came out with some pebbles for the team to arrange at the edge of the pathway to try to fill in the bottom of the fence and highlight the clean edges of our cleaning work. In just 35 minutes the transformation was amazing, even if we do say so ourselves. There’s plenty more to sign up to over the next few Tuesdays, so take a look and join us on one. Plus, it’s the extra special 6th Birthday coming up on 23rd April so get signed up to that one.
