After a very long weekend indeed, six of us met up to go and help at the wonderful 'forget me not' cafe and gardening club.

As the weather had held out and given us quite a warm evening, we took to the back lane to prune the overgrowing plants. Now that the weather is changing those that come to the club are starting to use the garden more, but this is a task that they just can't look after as the bushes and trees are just too large.

Just to make the task that little more difficult, there was a honeysuckle intertwined with the Hazel that needed pruning. We needed to leave the honeysuckle for the fragrant flowers, so some detangling was needed from the group.

After 30 minutes of so, the green fingered, red topped, active crew were done.

Time to quickly take a look around the garden to appreciate the work of the club, a group photo and then run back before the rain sets in.

Until Next Week ALL.

Forget-me-not Cafe and gardening club
Cafe open for 2 hours a week [but grounds always open] for people living with dementia and their cares, people recovering from stroke, those who are at risk of becoming isolated or lonely

We provide a safe, friendly space for people to meet, have musical entertainment, play table tennis, play draughts, chat, colour, do some art and now wish to extend to provide gardening as therapy. To the latter end we need to clear out a cellar of various bits of rubbish and make it into a storeroom for pots, gardening equipment etc.
