Report written by Chelmsford runner
Firstly a big warm welcome to Charlotte who was the first tourist to visit us in Chelmsford this year, coming all the way from Ealing! It’s fair to say she did her area proud getting fully stuck in and giving 100% effort with the task. We hope to see you again in the coming weeks if you can make it.
Secondly a few milestone achievements; a massive congratulations to Rich who was wearing his well earned new wings, joining esteemed company with Rachel, Joel, David and Laurie in the coveted 100 good deeds club in Chelmsford. This also leads nicely onto me as I reached my 50th good deed today and will soon be rocking a black T-shirt and Andy who is now only one task away from joining the 50 club. (hint: give everyone here some much deserved cheers).
And on to the task. Stephen the task owner set us to work as we cleared leaves and broke down fallen branches from the side of the hall as we filled up the 5 bin bags and 3 wheelie bins for composting. Thankfully the over looming threat of rain never materialised as Rich and Andy swept the leaves, Russell and Charlotte broke down the smaller branches and Rachel and Laurie used all their strength breaking down the larger branches with the rather large loppers. I made a nuisance of myself taking rather poor pictures of the whole event, thankfully everyone did a much better job of the task than I did with the pictures, I’m sorry.
We will be back at St John’s Church Hall next week but it will not be on Monday. Monday will be a special day for two very special Chelmsford GoodGym members who will be enjoying a day they have waited for, for sometime now thanks to that Covid thingy. I’m not sure if they’d want to be mentioned by name but they know who they are and we at GoodGym Chelmsford wish them all the best for the journey ahead and a lifetime of happiness and joy!!!
