Kash and JP met on a drizzly Sunday afternoon to tackle Mrs M’s back garden. Kash had already been there on a mission to tidy the front garden and had forewarned that the back was a “jungle” so we turned up ready for hard work.
Having made our way through the house we assessed. The garden was definitely in need of some TLC and we decided that it would take several missions to get it back to a reasonable state. So for the first of those we decided to tackle the biggest initial challenge, clearing the monster brambles from the garden path.
The first issue was that JP forgot gardening gloves, but Mrs M had some shears as well as secateurs so we could be get going on clipping back and piling up the brambles. Some of them were truly massive, and there were a few yelps along the way as we confirmed that lightweight running leggings are no match for giant, mean-looking spikes.
The rain turned out to be quite light and stopped for most of the time we were there. We chatted away as we worked and before we knew it we had been there an hour and a half - and pretty much achieved our aim of clearing the path of brambles.
