Today we were litter picking along the Milton Foreshore and people's memorial with stunning views across the water to Langstone. The tide was out so we were able to walk along the beach normally immersed in water. Judy brought her plastic bucket to collect the glass and quickly filled it along with some cans. Jo found a heavy rubber tyre and Katie found the token item of clothing - a sock. We all found almost a foundry worth of rusty pieces of iron that had definitely seen better days! Angela showed everyone how strong she was by pulling a piece of heavy metal piping out of the ground plus a metal rope which just kept coming! We came off the beach and wound our way back along the path picking up cigarette ends and a couple of crisp packets back to the people'memorial. We sat at one of the benches and Tracy treated us to some lemon drizzle cake which was delicious and some cheese scoffins (a mix of scone and muffin). Judy fed some crumbs to Tess who'd come along to enjoy the walk with us. With high winds and threat of rain it was less sun and San Miguel and more wind and storm Miguel, but we collected two good bags of rubbish left by the bins for collection and Judy and Vicky took the glass and cans off to re-cycling.
