Bountiful Beach

Portsmouth Report written by Dave M

This task ended up being a litter pick of the northern side beach by the Hayling ferry.

Treasures were dug out of the wet sand and Andy found himself a lovely new bracelet! Or a piece from a boat.

I pulled a strap out that was more of a magicians hanky trick as it just didnt seem to end!

Gr-8(Hundred) Extrapolations

Portsmouth Report written by Jen Stoneham

First of all, CONGRATULATIONS TO JUDY, who completed her 800th Good Deed this evening! What an outstanding achievement!

After some celebratory Jelly Babies (and ice-creams for those lacking in willpower), the runners completed the 2km Run Walk Local route before joining in with the litter pick.

Paddleboard UK had provided us with some new folding litter pickers and some super-strong rubbish sacks, so we got stuck in with cleaning the water ways of Hilsea Moat.

Only Jen was brave enough to de-shoe and paddle out to retrieve some litter, whilst others channeled their inner gymnast to balance, bend and extend to reach the discarded plastic bottles and cans. Thanks to Val and Andy for providing a Generation Game-esque relay handover from the banks to the Moat!

We pulled out a pair of socks, a rugby ball and a bike saddle, complete with post, as some of our more intriguing finds.

The ducks and swans seemed very satisfied when they returned to their freshly cleaned homes - great job everyone!
