Great Mulch!

Sunday 2nd March

Written by Sooz

A big welcome to three new GoodGymmers today: Charlotte, Alisha and Anthony. Great work on your first mission!

It was a beautiful sunny day and everyone walked, ran or jogged to the task today, basking in the rays.

We were welcomed by Eslam who explained how the sustainable project works by bringing together organisations, local companies and volunteers to support local green spaces around London.

Sooz and Nathan got started moving compost into new piles to make room for new composting materials.

Alisha, Anthony and Charlotte took on some heavy duty efforts turning massive amounts compost in three beds, and preparing the coffee chaffs for layering the new compost.

A brilliant session and much thanks to Eslam for his guidance.

We can't wait to come back!

Damn Good Coffee Compost Sacks

Sunday 19th January

Written by Dan (He/ him)

11 Goodgymers arrived on this Funday Sunday task to help the Hoxton Trust with their compost area.

After a great introduction from Eslam we split up into smaller groups to tackle different areas of the composting process.

One group started turning compost and moving it into a specific area in the garden. Whilst the other starting filling the Jute Sacks, layering them like a lasagne with different ingredidents including Coffee Chaffs and twiggs.

It was great to see everyone getting stuck in, and having a go at the big wheelbarrow push over the compost hill! The garden has very little capacity so amazing to see such a big turn out to help them.

Welcome Hayder and Zharina to their first good deed! And well done Lobo and Rue for their second good deed of the day taking part in the weekly London Fields Park Run.

And well done to those that joined the social run, adding KMs to the January Challenge 🏃‍♀️
