Three GoodGymers set off on a pleasant Monday evening to finish the litter picking job around Croft Stairs, a set of steps leading to Manor Chare and the Quayside beyond, started a couple of weeks ago. There was so much litter on our previous litter pick that there wasn't time to collect it all.
Today's litter of choice seemed to be large glass bottles, some of them broken. Whether it was wine, Prosecco or vodka, people had decided to discard their empty bottles all over the streets of Newcastle. We managed to fill 13 bags with litter, making a real difference to how the area looks.
Welcome again to Libby, on her second good deed, putting her dog selfie skills to good use when taking one of the photographs for this report. Seasoned litter picker Scott won the award for most litter collected, his second bag being filled in close to record time.

Libby Mills has done their first good deed with GoodGym.
Libby is a now a fully fledged GoodGym runner. They've just run to do good for the first time. They are out there making amazing things happen and getting fit at the same time.

On the first day of autumn, three GoodGymers headed from Stepney Bank Stables towards the Quayside. We covered a slightly different area than usual, some of the streets and areas away from the river.
Welcome to Libby, making her GoodGym debut, and welcome back to Jack, joining us for the first time in a little while. An ankle injury and a two-hour run yesterday meant we focused more on the doing good than getting fit this evening.
Libby spotted an enormous quantity of L'Oréal and Garnier sachets hidden behind a bush next to a car park. Her estimate of 2,000 probably wasn't far wrong. Everyone was extremely dedicated this evening, so we picked them all up and deposited them in a nearby bin. Twelve bags of litter were filled in all, definitely making a difference to how the area looks.
