Well Hitch, our usual run leader, certainly knows when to have a week off for a romantic break with the lovely Emma! After storm Ciara had hit the area the previous day the rest of us wondered what weather would be greeting us for our Goodgym run and task. Although the strong winds had eased, we weren't expecting the hail and snow storm which emptied itself over Norfolk just before we were due to meet up!

A big shout out therefore to the 20 amazing Goodgymers who left their cosy homes and cars and braved the elements for the task at Eaton Park.

//A big welcome to Michael and Karen who joined us for their first good gym experience//

After a brief warmup outside (we decided against doing our exercises inside the Forum in case we knocked over the knitted Sandringham House complete with HRH on display) we set off on the 3KM each way. *Thanks to Bill for being back runner. *

We were met at the park by the task owner Stuart who, as ever, was well organised with jobs and equipment for us to get on with. He explained that the storm had left branches strewn over the paths, leaves around the Lily Pond and Boating Lake and litter in the hedges, all of which needed clearing away to make the Park safe and pleasant for all users.

Goodgymers quickly split into pairs and got stuck in to the tasks. As there were so many leaves to collect it was decided not to leave them piled up by the litter bins in case they got blown around again, instead these were gathered up into sacks and bags. Trying to make the most of the space Hayley decided to jump on the leaves and quickly realised that it was warmer in the sack then outside!

30 minutes soon went and loads got done. There was just a last minute drama when we realised a frog had been hiding under the leaves so Alex came to the rescue, moving it to the side where a small pile of leaves was put back over it.

We then gathered for a quick group photo before heading back to the Forum to do our stretches and Bill handed out biscuits.

Next week Hitch is back in charge and we head off on a 5KM each way run to Redmayne care home.
