After the forecast all day rain 🌧 failed to materialise (apologies for now jinxing it 😣) I popped to Kingston Rec to give the new saplings a much needed water.
Whilst there, I removed the last few collars that were starting to strangle some of them!

This was a beautiful, thoughtful show with an evocative soundtrack.
I helped welcome visitors and give them a leaflet which listed future events. Then at the end, we set up the chairs in a semi circle for the school children who are coming tomorrow. The winner of the chair-moving competition was impressive, sliding 6 in one-go! 🏆

A much calmer evening today, greeting people and making sure they were OK as they enjoyed the installation.
After a while, folks began arriving for the yoga session 🕉 due to take place. After guiding them to the sign in, I then directed them to the area where they could set up their mats.
Joining the breathing sessions and marvelling at people's flexibility! I bid farewell to the sea 🌊

I arrived at the church and said hello to Father Bob whilst watching some of the show.
First job was to take a place next to the giant screen installation to keep watch on any querying hands getting too close!
After a number of interventions i was replaced and went to spend time at the front entrance to greet and wave goodbye to those who were loving the art.
After tagging Tracey in, I headed home to a warming bowl of soup homemade by our wonderful leader.

It was fab to welcome Leszek to his first task in Portsmouth this evening - thanks for coming to visit!
The evening started with adding lights and sticks to the lanterns that people had made at various community events over the past few weeks. The next task was reuniting lanterns with their owners ahead of the parade.
Marshalling this year was a bit of an easier as the partial road closure magically expanded in to a full road closure.
Sinéad entertained the crowds with her light up poi (apologies for the spelling, Sinead!) whilst the rest of us carried the "special" lanterns that had been donated.
After spending a bit of time stripping lanterns of their lights and sticks ready to be reused again next year, we all headed off for some much needed down-time.

Our leafleting task turned out to be a letter delivery task, asking local residents to nominate inspiring individuals for Stephen Morgan's annual award ceremony.
Portsmouth GoodGym have previously won an award through the programme and we proved we were worthy winners by smashing out a whole lot of leaflets in our hour long session this evening.
It turns out that leafleting is much more fun with friends, and the time and streets flew by. We also discovered Val's walking origami skills, and that Judy could probably represent Team GB in the Leafleting Olympics. She has missed her calling as a postie!
