There won't be many occasions where we can be surrounded by hundreds of wasps and the pesty things aren't attacking us haha.
Tonight's task was at Silver Road Community Centre, where our jobs were weeding and cutting back the hedge. Sadly the latter task was more of a challenge as it was a hideout for the wasps. It did baffle us as to why there were so many wasps nearby. Penny looked it up and the wasps live on the excretion of some flies that inhabit on the bushes. So in other words they eat the flies' p00.
Either way, the team worked really hard and did a fantastic job.

During Covid-19, Silver Road Community Centre set up a food bank, the only one in that area. They have really gone strength to strength and created something that has helped to support local people in need during challenging times.
Our job this evening was to treat all of the shelves, which will enable the food bank to have a 5 hygiene rating.
The team didn't hang about and blitzed it all, despite Rachel smashing down plenty of biscuits haha.

This evening marked a special occasion as Liz K was completing her 100th good deed! There will soon be a 'wings' t-shirt headng your way.
It was also nice to see a few old faces returning back :-)
We embarked on a 1-mile each way trip to Silver Road Community Centre where Julie and some of her team greeted us.
As the centre is open as usual, our task was to make the outside area tidy and clear of weeds.
With about 5 mins to go the heavy rain pelted down. Half of the group took shelter, the other half kept working haha.
A lot got done in a short time and made the centre looking great from the outside.
We finished with a honeycomb kit-kat... they are pretty darn good, before making our way back to The Forum.

We were instructed to do a stock check by Abby from Silver Parcels Foodbank We were told that this would be a boring job but as usual using the Goodgym mindset we managed to prove Abby wrong and the hour of counting beans and rice flew past! Let's hear it for the silver triangle NR3 💚

Katy and Bill did the second shift of the night at the newly opened Silver Parcels Foodbank in the wonderful NR2 neighbourhood of Norwich. Overseen by Abby (also of Oxfam and EACH) they replaced Andy and Rachel to complete stocktaking and date sorting cans, packets and cartons of essential food which were neatly stashed away in filing cabinets ready to help people in difficulties get through hard times.
