A duo of GoodGymers headed to the Wimbledon Quarter to support The Wheel with their first clothes swap event. We hit the ground running (and lifting), helping to move tables, unload bags of stock, and transform the space into an organized hub for pre-loved donations.

Another last minute request for help was fulfilled by 2 of the team tonight. We helped get the Little ARK makerspace ship-shape for its upcoming launch. As we cleared clutter, sorted supplies, and carefully set up the sewing machines it was an opportunity to chat about arts and crafts. By the time we finished, the rooms were transformed and ready to welcome guests later this week!

We had a fantastic turnout to help clean and organise the storage area at Merton's Community Fridge for tonight's group session. After a briefing, we emptied the entire room and then split up into 3 teams; 2 groups on labelling and sorting all the food and other items and then the other team tackled the deep cleaning. Everyone got stuck in and a lot was achieved - well done team!
A big welcome to Jo and congratulations on your first GoodGym task, we hope to see you again soon.

A group of us set out to pick up litter in our local areas. It was pleasing to see that there was less litter to pick up than this time last year but still a fair wack!

Gardening isn't the first activity that comes to mind on a grey January morning when it's two degrees outside, but a run to the park soon got me warmed up. Three other hardy GoodGymers were already there and Liz from Friends of Morden Park set us to work cutting back brambles and shovelling mulch into wheelbarrows then transporting and spreading it along a muddy path. There was lots of appreciation from park users (and a friendly fox) which is always nice, and by the time we'd finished you could really see the improvement. Liz kindly supplied hot drinks and a selection of cake and biscuits so we lingered afterwards for a chat post-workout. I'm sure we'll return 🦊

Braved a cold, rainy morning to tackle the 'wild area' of John Innes Park to clear brambles and nettles to help the local habitat thrive. Despite the drizzle, it was a joy to work in such a beautiful space. We left damp, but with a clear path and clear heads!
