Who's a binner?

Monday 21st October

Written by Merton runner

Extra volunteers for the distribution today meant extra clean up tasks afterwards and a little rummage in the recycling bin to make some space.

It's important to do what we can to help the environment and separating the rubbish can be so therapeutic, especially at sunset.

Want to help, there's more help needed at the Community Fridge

We've 'bin' busy

Monday 30th September

Written by Merton runner

The extra hands for today's distribution clean up meant there was time to wash out the festering food bin as well as sanitise the boxes and complete all the usual clean-up tasks. We were kept busy to the end and the Fridge needs more help on Wednesday for the set-up if you are in the area and can help out: https://www.goodgym.org/happenings/help-with-distribution-session-set-up-6d2e1007-9760-4b33-9f52-08d9f081ce35

Otherwise watch out for more tasks as we are busy preparing to launch Goodgym Merton very soon.

Unofficial launch

Monday 23rd September

Written by Merton runner

We are recruiting and hope to be ready to launch the new Goodgym community led area in Merton very soon. With a few sessions in the diary ahead of the launch today's clean-up task was the first unofficial Merton based community mission.

Arriving early meant not only were we able to contribute to a speedy clean-up session, but we helped with reducing the remaining food from going to waste. The bread and veggies were a lovely bonus, thanks to the Community Fridge and Saeeda for having us.

If you are in the area or passing through keep an eye out for more tasks but in the meantime please spread the word and encourage anyone in Merton who might be interested to sign up with Goodgym. We need 3 more members of Taskforce to launch so hoping it won't be long.
