Alex and Jade lent a hand at Merton's Community Fridge after work for a much-needed clean-up. It was a bit chaotic with plenty of the usual sorting and tidying, and unfortunately, quite a bit of food waste to weigh and dispose of, but we powered through supporting the other new volunteers and got the job done!

During a lunchtime stroll around the common, Georgina (fresh from knee surgery!) and I managed a mini litter pick. We gathered a small bag of rubbish, proving that every little bit helps, and a great way to catch up and ease back into action.

It was one of the hottest evenings of the year but the heatwave didn't deter seven magnificent GoodGymers from running, walking or cycling up the steep hill that leads to the Ridgway. It was good to be back after our visit in May and this time we set to work trimming back a large tree, transplanting a shrub, spreading mulch and doing some weeding. Maggie and her husband kindly supplied juice and ice creams, which ensured there were no meltdowns. We look forward to returning in August.

Met the distribution team who were lovely , and helped out on the frozen foods section , which was probably the best place to be in the hot weather! Great to see the community pulling together to help those who need it.

We hit the streets of Raynes Park today for a session of leafletting! We were supporting Age UK by helping promote their invaluable services to the community, and of course, adding a GoodGym leaflet too! This task was a brilliant chance to catch up with a fellow GoodGymer whilst walking and delivering the leaflets, enjoying some good conversation and fresh air. Afterwards, we even had time to grab a well-deserved drink and continue the chat. It's always great to combine doing good with a bit of social time!

This morning I had a wonderfully fruitful session helping the volunteers at Phipps Bridge Community Garden! What a lovely way to spend a morning break from the day job - soaking up the sun while getting stuck into picking blackcurrants and with time for sewing mangetout seeds.
