Some of the team joined the RSPB big garden bird watch to cound the local bird population throughout Merton and further afield. The results were a mixed bag with some owl-fully busy with constant visitors and others had a shy turnout.
It was great to get outside and Bernard joined in with a first mission, achieving a daily walking goal at the same time - well done: "Walking around the park was a pleasant experience, especially since it was my first time there. Unfortunately, I didn't see any birds, but it still provided a good opportunity to meet my daily walking goals."

The team collected up items to donate to various charities, including British Heart Foundation in Wimbledon, Royal Trinity Hospice and Little Lives UK in Raynes Park. There may have been others, so the report/register may be updated before the weekend is out!

After plenty of missions spent cleaning and tidying, it was a lovely treat to be on the front line at Merton's Community Fridge distribution session, serving up meals and smiles while helping to tackle food waste. A tasty change of scenery supporting such an important community space.
After an hour it was time to switch out, and head to another job but fortunately a trusty GoodGymer was on hand to step in. Relay team effort!

Three GoodGymers headed to the Merton and Morden Guild to tackle a task that was anything but a bog-standard paint job. Making moody blue to a brilliant, fresh white.
We kicked things off with a heavy session of masking tape. Then came the real challenge: the texture. Those interestingly bumpy blue walls required some serious effort, but between some expert cutting-in and heavy-duty rollering, we made sure the blue we could reach was well and truly whitened. We will be back to work on another coat and deal with the gloss as soon as we can.

The session was a whirlwind of layout and logistics, involving setting up tables and arranging chairs to transform the hall into a welcoming party venue for the Fridge friends. Once the furniture was in place, attention turned to the refreshments - getting the food laid out and ready for the guests to arrive.

Arriving early with two pairs of hands meant we made light work of the setup, flying through the to-do list in record time. Between all the chair lifting and room prepping, it turned into a fantastic end-of-day workout for a great cause.
