Well done to everyone involved this evening. Although it was a quieter service with 14 guests, the team performed brilliantly and delivered a fully vegan menu, showcasing creativity and teamwork throughout.

An impressive highlight of the night was the use of pumpkin in every dish. The menu featured bubble and squeak with pumpkin purée, followed by roasted pumpkin with mash and garlic romanesco. Dessert rounded off the meal perfectly with a classic pumpkin pie.

A great example of making something special regardless of numbers!

Stopped by the monthly lunchtime Soup and Co to check in ahead of our upcoming group session and enjoyed a restorative bowl of mushroom soup ahead of a serious vacuuming marathon. The space was left spotless, and the to-do list collated for a return visit in a couple of weeks.

We made short work of the set up ensuring the space was welcoming and ready for guests. Then, it was time to get stuck into the kitchen prep, where we peeled our way through a mountain of carrots.

There’s nothing like a brisk morning mission to prove you don't need a gym membership when there’s a church hall to clear. Packing away after the night shelter at Martin Way methodist church and prepping the space for its next community use involved plenty of lifting and shifting, hauling and stacking chairs. There was even time to get Henry (the vacuum) out for a spin - strangely therapeutic!

Despite the rainy weather trying to dampen our spirits, the Sew-cial session was a hive of activity and plenty.

When it came time to pack everything away, plenty of hands were ready to jump in. We worked quickly to clear the space, folding fabrics and packing up supplies in record time.

Tonight was a quick shift getting the mattresses down and pillows perfectly placed. Knowing that these beds provide a safe, warm place for people to rest makes this one of our most rewarding regular tasks at this time of year.
