HIVE Portsmouth is a strategic partnership in Portsmouth consisting of a representative group of the voluntary and community sector, NHS Portsmouth Clinical Commissioning Group and Portsmouth City Council.
We work with local people, groups and organisations in a way that recognises and nurtures the strengths of individuals, families and communities and helps to build independence and self-reliance as an alternative to a reliance on traditional services.
We connect people and organisations to share, support and learn in order to meet the needs of individuals and are committed to working together with the objective of building a happier, healthier and more connected city.
29 GoodGymers have supported HIVE Portsmouth with 20 tasks.

Give GoodGymers the basic materials and they'll create something beautiful!
The task was set by Hive, asking for Christmas table or wall decorations for Portsmouth care homes.
We made centrepieces from nature's bounty, tealight holders that will send out Xmas colours and bunting to string across the dining rooms.
It was great to welcome Sadie to her first GG activity (good luck in the Southampton 10K, Sadie!) And lovely to have the growing GGers, Alice & Jack, to keep us entertained with their chatter!
And well done, you crafty GGers!

We had lots of fun this evening with a task a bit different to our normal busy Wednesday nights!
Following a request from HIVE for Christmas Cards for elderly people in care homes, we let our creative juices loose and made an impressive number in such a short space of time.
Christmas truly came early for Judy, who discovered pre-inked stamps for the first time! I'm not sure I've seen ever seen so much joy!
Well done everyone on a super job this evening.

Well done Team GG for a commendable extended task this evening. I think we covered nearly all modes of transport to get to the task this evening - Val and Judy braved the train and shuttle bus, Abby took a voyage on the ferry and myself and Dave rocked up on our bikes!
We donned our Hi-Vis vests and lanyards and headed to our respective marshal points. I hope the power of the walkie-talkie and clipboard combo didn't go to Katie's head as much as it did mine!
We also learned a new timing system when Dave announced it was "quarter to doors" which just got funnier the more he said it! (You probably had to be there!)
We had encounters with cute dogs, grumpy Park and Ride passengers, hooligan youths and even some paramedics after a runner was hit by a car just down from our marshal point.
Superb efforts this evening, GoodGymers, HIVE Portsmouth and I am sure the MOD are very grateful for your time.

Another crafting session at MAKE: this time anything WW2-themed, creating decorations for D-Day parties in local Care Homes.
As previously, the crafting led to mindfulness, and then sharing personal stories.
Look out for photos of the decorations when they've been finished at home, including lots of red, white & blue; spitfires, aircraft insignia & maps; and 1940s tea dance-inspired woman & crockery!

Portsmouth Hive put out a request for Valentine-themed decorations for a Care Home, so we responded to the call.
There was some at-home crafting and a lunchtime MAKE session.
Plenty of love-themed crafting was the result.

In addition to doing my 58th parkrun and 34th location, I stayed behind to help with barcode scanning and event closedown, taking equipment to storage. This was my sixth parkrun in Hampshire.
